No. You can ask for a “dark minor progression at 128 BPM” or “a bouncy house bass line in F minor” in plain English and get back MIDI that sits in key and in time. If you do know theory, you can be as specific as you want — voicings, modes, inversions, swing — and Parsel will follow.

Ableton Live 11 and 12, on macOS and Windows. Live 10 is not supported — Parsel relies on MIDI APIs that were added in Live 11, so there is no path to back-port it.

No. Every plan includes AI usage out of the box. You never create an Anthropic account, paste in an API key, or watch a token meter — just sign in and start producing. Your subscription covers it.

Each message you send in the chat counts as one, whether you are asking for a full eight-bar melody or just changing the tempo. Starter includes around 800 messages a month, Pro around 1,500, and Unlimited has a fair-use ceiling near 3,000. Most producers land well under their cap.

Yes. Your audio, samples, and plugin state never leave your machine. Parsel only sends the minimum context the AI needs — things like track names, tempo, and clip lengths — plus whatever you type in the chat. Prompts and session data are not stored, logged, or used to train any model.

No. Parsel is its own desktop app that runs alongside Live and talks to it through a small Remote Script — the same mechanism Ableton uses for hardware controllers like Push. It doesn’t modify Live, your projects, or your preferences, and you can quit it at any time without affecting the session you are working on.

There is no free tier. Plans start at $15 a month and you can cancel at any time. We would rather charge a fair price and keep the product fast, private, and ad-free than run a freemium funnel.
